Will Cannon
I grew up in a low-income, single-parent household in Southern California. I didn’t do well in school. I dropped out of college after one day. I just knew I needed to start building something — fast.
At 19, I became a mortgage broker right before the 2008 housing crash. While the market collapsed around me, I figured out how to generate leads using cold email outreach. That side hustle turned into an obsession — and a career.
Over the next decade, I taught myself everything I could about outbound sales, email deliverability, and building systems that actually scale. I never raised funding, never had a safety net — just grit, trial and error, and a lot of late nights.
In 2017, I launched UpLead — a B2B data platform to help sales teams find in-market buyers using verified contact data.
Since then, we’ve generated over $30M in sales with a lean, remote team — entirely bootstrapped.
